Privacy Policy — The Nose's Academy

This Privacy Policy explains what information The Nose's Academy ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account and using the app you agree to the practices described below.

Information We Collect

Account information: the email address and display name you provide when you register.
Profile content you choose to add: an optional profile photo (avatar), short bio, and username.
Learning activity: your XP, rank, streaks, lesson and quiz progress, accord-challenge attempts, saved formulas, ingredient-mastery scores, journal entries, achievements, and certifications.
Community content: posts, comments, and likes you choose to share to the community feed, and formulas you choose to share to the Salon.
Purchase information: if you subscribe to Pro, your subscription status and purchase history (product, price, renewal state). Payment is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store — we never see or store your card details.
App preferences: notification settings, theme, and accessibility options.
Limited technical data needed to operate the service, such as authentication tokens.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the app: to authenticate you, save and sync your learning progress across sessions, personalize your experience, and send the in-app reminders you have enabled.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising.

How Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (our backend and database provider). Access is protected by row-level security so that you can only access your own records. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).

Community Content Is Visible to Others

Content you post to the community feed (posts, comments, likes) and formulas you share to the Salon are visible to other users of the app, together with your display name, avatar, and rank. Everything else — your journal, private formulas, progress, and profile details — stays private to you. You can delete your own posts and comments at any time, and you can report or block other users from within the app.

Sharing & Third Parties

We share data only with the service providers required to run the app:

Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
RevenueCat — processes in-app subscription entitlements. RevenueCat receives an app-specific user identifier and your purchase history so your Pro membership can be validated and restored across devices. It does not receive your card details; payment itself is handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their own privacy policies.

We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

Data Retention & Account Deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account.

You may also request deletion via the web account-deletion page or by emailing hi@tanxeel.com. When you delete your account, your profile, progress, formulas, journal entries, community posts and comments, and uploaded avatar are permanently removed.

Permissions We Request

Camera & Photos: only when you choose to set or change your profile picture.
Notifications: to deliver the learning reminders you opt into. You can turn these off at any time in Settings.
Biometrics (Face ID / fingerprint): used locally and optionally to lock your Formula Vault. Biometric data never leaves your device.

Children's Privacy

The app is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or contact us for assistance.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
